This trail climbing up Horse Ridge is located south of the Oregon Badlands near Bend Oregon. It is within a couple of miles of the Flatiron Trailhead off of Highway 20. This trail system is used by cyclist, and horses are not allowed.

We made this hike on Memorial Day weekend in 2011 with our English Springer Spaniels. We had been in here earlier during the year with our dogs while there was still snow on the ground, and it was very cold.

We managed to stay dry on this trip, making it back to the car with our Springer Spaniels just before the rain started. Take a look at all the moss on the junipier trees as we make this climb. We have had an extremely wet spring for Central Oregon this year.

We climb to the top of Horse Ridge and have a great view from up there. The dogs had a great time, and climbing seems to push them a bit more then the flatlands we normally are in in the Badlands.
