Fun on the Beach!

 

Our Springer Spaniels seemed to forget that they live near Bend, Oregon on this trip to Newport. They dove into the ocean and ran on the beach, loving every minute of it. Was a great trip in the fall of 2010.

When the dogs were puppies they seemed to want to drink the salt water more on a previous trip. We really had to watch them to keep them from getting sick. A year older and the Springer Spaniels had figured it out.

Another hazard with the ocean was the salt water irratating the dogs skin. We had to wash them off afterwards to prevent them from getting a rash. Making sure they are taken care of while being active with them is more work then just keeping them caged. But it is well worth it.

We did run into a seal on the beach with the dogs. I did not find any photos of that event to include in this presentation. It was interesting since the seal was bigger then they were. Once they figured it out they wanted to bark and play with it. When we saw the seal getting apprehensive though we got the dogs and left it alone. Hopefully I find those pictures somewhere and can put together another slide show that includes the seal.
